Welcome to Brooksville’s 1885 Railroad Depot Museum.The Brooksville Historical Train Depot

We are located a few blocks south of the Historic Hernando County Courthouse at # 70 Russell Street, next to a Park of the same name. We are at the Florida Good Neighbor Bike Trailhead and  Rest area. A large Gazebo and Rest rooms are here.

Operating hours are 12-3, Tuesday thru Friday.

The Brooksville Railroad Association was organized March 3 1885.

The Depot Museum  features  printed listings of all burials in the 47 cemeteries of Hernando County .

We also have the records of Marriages and Births from 1896 to 1992 in Hernando County.

We have a restored early 1800’s track crew meal train car.

We have a beautifully restored, by the 1987 Hernando Highschool Shop class, 1925 American LaFrance fire Truck.

The Depot has two model trains layouts.

We have artifacts dug from the early settlements of Hope Hill and Centralia Sawmill, yes the road was named for it.

There is a large display of items used in early Cracker life in Hernando County.

Admission is $3 for Adults, Children free.
